CalGuard's Youth Take the Lead

Members of the California National Guard's Teen Council experience inclusive leadership.

Sacramento, Calif.- Military kids go through a lot. From deployments to changing schools, the stressors placed on military children can be challenging and leave kids feeling underrepresented. The California National Guard's Teen Council helps provide a voice for the Golden State's military kids.

Recently, members of the Teen Council throughout the state had the opportunity to meet at the California Military Department's Consolidated Headquarters where they toured the Joint Operations Center, experienced state emergency operations, and learned about leadership in crisis operations.
