California Cadet Corps Promote in Williams

WILLIAMS, Calif. - The Williams Junior/Senior High School hosted their very own California Cadet Corps Promotion ceremony where over 120 students who were promoted from Cadet to Specialist.
The event was attended by former California Governor Edmond G. (Jerry) Brown, California State Guard Brig. Gen. Peter Cross, Commander of Youth and Community Programs, California Military Department Command Sgt. Major Richard Aller, and a host of proud family members.
"What I saw was a very vibrant Cadet Corps here at Williams High School" said Brown. "It's a really big step forward and the kids can make great use of it. It gives them a sense of identity and a sense of purpose".
The Williams school cafeteria was packed with proud family members who participated in the promotion by "pinning" the rank of specialist on the newly promoted cadets.
"What I picture this evening is these families going home, around the dinner table being very proud of their new cadets" stated Brig. Gen. Peter Cross, Commander of Youth and Community Programs for the California Military Department.
