PLACERVILLE, Calif. – Air assets from the Nevada Army National Guard's Aviation Support Facility have come to California's aid once again.

Nevada lent one CH-47 Chinook and multiple UH-60 Black Hawk helicopters, along with aircrews, to California's fire fight. The aircrews have dropped roughly a million gallons of water on the Dixie and Caldor fires.

"We’ve always had a good relationship with California Guard," said Chief Warrant Officer 4 Steve Nielsen, a Nevada Army National Guard pilot assigned to the state’s Joint Force Headquarters. "Whenever they need support, we’re more than willing to come over and help out. They've helped us out in the past."

Watch the video below for a detailed look at Nevada Army National Guard's work on the fires, and hear from the crew members themselves.
