California Military Department partners up at the California Cybersecurity Education Summit

SACRAMENTO, Calif. – $10.5 trillion. That is the projected amount of illegal money to be generated by cybercrime in 2025. Illicit drug trafficking, counterfeiting, and human trafficking combined still don’t add up to that staggering amount.
The California Military Department partnered with local, State and Federal agencies and private businesses for the annual California Cybersecurity Education Summit where partners joined together to battle one of the most significant strategic risks for the United States, which threatens our national security, economic prosperity, and public health and safety.

The CMD’s Cyber Network Defense team was established in 2013 as part of California’s approach to cyber awareness and mitigation. The team is a cybersecurity organization consisting of California Army National Guard soldiers, California Air National Guard airmen, members of the California State Guard and civilian employees.
